The Quotable Einstein (citations d’Einstein) et l’avait attribu Alice Calaprice, diteur Princeton des papiers d’Einstein, qui a eu l’ide de les runir. L’diteur franais l’attribue astucieusement (mais faussement) Einstein. Le lecteur lui en voudra ou non (s’il est prvenu !), dans la mesure o il ne trouve ici nulle trace de la physique qui a rendu Einstein clbre, ni la moindre vulgarisation. Cela dit, et une fois le cadre dfini, les citations du grand homme, classes par thmes, n’en sont pas moins savoureuses. Des plus connues (“Dieu est subtil, mais pas malicieux”, suivie de “Finalement, il est peut-tre malicieux…”) aux plus surprenantes (“Je n’ai pas de talents particuliers. Je suis juste passionnment curieux”), c’est le portrait du mythe Einstein qui est bross ici. La prface de Freeman Dyson explique la remarquable persistance de ce mythe : Einstein tait non seulement un trs grand savant ; il tait aussi un tre humain.
